Gun range as bonding time

Today, my dad, my sister, and I went to the gun range to mark New Year’s Eve. I wasn’t sure what to expect even though I’ve shot several times before, but it turned out to be an interesting experience.

We tried a few different guns, and I found the 9mm to be the most manageable. It was easier to handle, and I felt more in control while aiming at the targets. The .45, however, was a challenge. The recoil was intense, and it was difficult to keep steady. Still, it was valuable to try something outside my comfort zone.

What stood out most was spending time with my dad and sister. We compared our aim and talked about what we could improve. My sister’s accuracy was impressive, and I focused on learning and improving my technique. It was a meaningful way to connect and try something productive together.

This New Year’s Eve felt different, more reflective. Starting the year with focus and effort feels like a good way to set the tone for what’s ahead.
